Strengthening Responsible Business Practices in Vietnam: A Shared Commitment Across the Value Chain

The Embassy and Consulate General of the Netherlands successfully hosted a series of roundtable discussions on Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on September 9th and 10th. The events brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including Dutch enterprises, Vietnamese businesses, representatives from the Dutch Business Association Vietnam, and social organizations.

As one of the Netherlands’ key trading partners in Southeast Asia, Vietnam stands at a critical intersection of opportunity and responsibility. While economic growth continues to accelerate, businesses are increasingly required to address environmental and social risks within their operations and supply chains.

A highlight of the discussions was the participation of Dr. William Nolten, who joined industry leaders to exchange strategic perspectives on embedding RBC into business models. Drawing from Golden Gate BCE’s experience in sustainability and value chain transformation, Dr. Nolten emphasized:
