Evaluation of New vegetable Varieties for the 2024–2025 Winter – Spring Season: Potential for High Quality Crop Development

On the morning of March 12, Bejo Vietnam Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Agricultural Extension Center (Department of Agriculture and Environment) organized a field visit and evaluation of new vegetable varieties for the 2024–2025 winter-spring season. The event took place at the company’s research and experimental farm located in the Nhan Khang High-Tech Agricultural Zone (Ly Nhan, Ha Nam Province). Attendees included representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, agricultural cooperatives, production facilities, and farmers from both within and outside the province.

Each year, Bejo Vietnam’s experimental farm trials more than 30 varieties of vegetables, tubers, and fruits, covering nearly 140 new products. These include promising crops such as kohlrabi, cabbage, celery, carrot, coral cauliflower, tomato, chili, and various culinary herbs. The new varieties are noted for their high yield potential, superior quality, and strong adaptability to Vietnam’s soil and climate conditions. Several premium vegetable varieties are also being trialed to serve high-end markets and potential export opportunities.

During the visit, participants toured both greenhouse and open-field trial areas, while also engaging in technical discussions with the company’s specialists. The evaluation offered practical insights into the applicability of the new varieties in large-scale production, contributing to improved crop efficiency and value for local agriculture.

Currently, several safe, VietGAP-certified, and organic farming zones in the province are already using Bejo vegetable varieties in combination with biological inputs, showing promising results in terms of productivity and quality. This approach contributes to the development of modern, environmentally friendly agriculture.
